It turns out I didn't go downtown. It would have been a beautiful night to walk across the bridge, enjoy the cool weather and the people, and find a bite to eat before returning to Frazier street. But we found ourselves craving Italian food. Italian cravings overrule the craving for exercise.
I don't know of any Italian places downtown. Except for Mom's Italian Villa, which has been on my list of things to try for a while. Unfortunately, the times I have decided to try, I have been stopped at the door by the "Cash/Check Only" sign. I never think to go to the ATM (or else I have no money in my account...A common thing, since I send most of my money to my ex), or to bring my check book. So last night, we headed to Hixson to eat at the Brick Oven Grille. It's good stuff. If you've never eaten there, strongly consider splitting a meal with someone else. The portions are huge, and the food is delicious.
Speaking of delicious, I will be going to Atlanta this morning to help my mom with some chores around the house. I'm sure I'll be rewarded with some good home cooking. I'm excited!
Did I mention in my intro that I'm fat?

First, welcome to town. I'm not from here, but have lived here for almost 15 years. Love it.
Now, Italian downtown: the best places I know of are Tony's Pasta and Cibo!, and there's a place called Tomato Tango on the corner of 8th and Broad, I think.
Brick Oven's pretty good, too; but if you want the best (and I think most of Chattanooga agrees with this), get out to Provino's off South Terrace in the East Ridge area.

Wow! My blog is being read by someone! Thanks Joe!
I'll have to check out the restaurants you suggested. I've gone to Tomato Tango before (it just slipped my mind), but I was unaware of the others you mentioned. I'll definitely seek them out.

You must go up Signal Mountain to Pastaria. Nino is from Italy (or maybe Sicily). Any way, it is great stuff!

I will try to check it out. Actually, I've seen the place, and pulled in the parking lot to go eat, but it was closed. It must have been a Sunday or something. But I'll definitely go try again. Thanks for the tip!
